View your child's pupil passport
Written for: Parents and carers.
A pupil passport is a short profile of your child for the staff who teach and support them. It usually covers what your child is good at, what helps them learn and what staff should avoid. When your child’s school shares the passport with you, you get a secure link so you can read it and confirm you’ve seen it. You don’t need to sign in.
Open the passport
Section titled “Open the passport”The school sends you the link, for example by email or text message. Click it to open the passport.
You’ll see:
- the name of the school that shared it
- your child’s first name and the passport’s title
- when the passport was last updated
- the passport itself
Your school may use a different name for the passport. The page uses the same name as the school.
Confirm you’ve read it
Section titled “Confirm you’ve read it”At the bottom of the page:
- Type your name in Your full name.
- Under You are the pupil’s, choose Parent, Carer, Guardian or Other.
- Click I have read this passport.
A thank-you message confirms that the school can now see you’ve read your child’s passport. Confirming that you’ve read it doesn’t mean you agree with everything in it. If something is missing or wrong, contact the school.
If someone has already confirmed they’ve read it, the page shows their name and the date. If the passport has changed since then, you’ll see “Please read and acknowledge this version.” Read it again and confirm.
When the link stops working
Section titled “When the link stops working”Passport links last for a limited time, usually 14 days, and the school can switch a link off early. If the page says the link can’t be used or is no longer available, ask the school to send you a new one.
Keep the link to yourself. Anyone who has it can read the passport until it expires.
