Record CES survey results

Keep parent and staff views tied to the instrument and key area they actually answer. Online responses, paper batches and counts of answers are different evidence; none represents every family or member of staff automatically.

Open Leadership → Faith inspection → CSI / Section 48 → Records → CES parent and staff surveys. Inspect existing instruments before creating another one. Eligible leaders use the displayed parent or staff template button to create the appropriate instrument; the new instrument is open, so check its title, audience and questions before making a link available.

An instrument is not a message. To share it, use its New link control, inspect the displayed URL and select/copy it through the school’s agreed distribution route. There is no dedicated copy-link button here, and creating a link does not email recipients.

The current hub does not offer controls to close an instrument or expire/revoke its links. Plan distribution accordingly and ask the responsible administrator about withdrawing a link; do not assume closing the page deactivates it or that a new link cancels an older one.

In the capture form, choose Instrument and CSI area. Read Respondent group; it follows the selected instrument’s parent/staff audience and cannot be freely changed to file results under the other population.

Enter whole-number Positive, Neutral and Negative counts for the actual question/key-area evidence being captured. Counts cannot be negative and an all-zero batch is refused. Do not substitute estimated responses for missing paper returns.

Use optional Theme for an anonymised summary, up to 300 characters. Do not paste identifiable parent, pupil or staff case details into an aggregate comment theme. Preserve the original records through the school’s agreed evidence process where required.

Choose Save results and wait for Results saved. Input locks while that save is pending, then the instrument and area stay selected for the next batch. Check them again before entering a different audience or key area. A slow/uncertain response needs checking before another save, rather than blindly entering the same batch twice.

Results report separates Parent and Staff for Catholic Life & Mission, Religious Education and Collective Worship. Read the displayed positive/neutral/negative answer counts and the denominator of the positive rate.

Online responses counts distinct recorded online submissions; Paper batches counts manually recorded aggregate batches; Answers recorded counts answers across key areas. A single respondent may supply multiple answers, and one paper batch can represent multiple people. Do not divide answers by total families and call it a response rate, or add batches to online submissions as a count of individual respondents.

A partial-results or failed-read notice makes the report incomplete/unavailable, not zero responses or unanimous satisfaction. Resolve the read before exporting or drawing conclusions. Consider the sampling window, who was invited, who replied and whose voices are missing alongside the totals.

4. Use the evidence in a reviewed self-evaluation

Section titled “4. Use the evidence in a reviewed self-evaluation”

Return to the relevant Self-evaluation → Judgement area. Record the supported interpretation, its actual population/window, uncertainty and next enquiry, then Save narrative. A positive survey percentage does not automatically set a working grade, complete an AFI or demonstrate impact.

For mission/evidence context, working grades, CSED import/export and adviser sharing, see Use CSI / Section 48.
