Drill into one school
Written for: Trust leaders and central teams.
From the trust workspace you can open a page for any school in your trust. It brings that school’s headline figures together: attendance, persistent absence, SEND, behaviour, health, leadership actions and how up to date its data is. You can also narrow every trust page to one school.
The school page is read-only and shows school-level figures only. Pupil records stay in the school’s own workspace, behind the school’s own access controls.
Open a school’s page
Section titled “Open a school’s page”Open it from Trust Home or Risk Radar:
- Trust Home: under Live school overview, click the school’s name.
- Risk Radar: click a school’s row under Schools with elevated signals, or click a cell in the matrix and then View school.
Read the school’s page
Section titled “Read the school’s page”The top of the page shows the school’s name, phase, URN and town. Below are eight cards:
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Attendance | Attendance for the academic year. |
| Persistent absence | The percentage of pupils who are persistently absent, and how many pupils that is. |
| SEND | The percentage of pupils on the SEND register, split into SEN Support and EHCP. |
| Safeguarding | Always Unavailable at trust level. Safeguarding figures aren’t released to trusts. |
| Behaviour | Behaviour incidents recorded this academic year. |
| Health | Pupils with a medical need, healthcare plan or allergy recorded. |
| Actions | Overdue school leadership actions, and how many are open. |
| Data quality | How many parts of the school’s MIS data failed to update, and when it last updated. |
What the values mean:
- No data: the school hasn’t supplied this information. It doesn’t mean zero.
- Withheld or <5: the number is too small to show without risking identifying pupils.
These are summaries to help you ask the right questions. To understand what’s behind a figure, talk to the school’s leaders, or open the matching trust page, such as Attendance Intelligence, with this school selected.
To go back, click Back to Trust dashboard. It always returns you to Trust Home.
Narrow the trust pages to one school
Section titled “Narrow the trust pages to one school”To see every trust page for just one school, choose it in the school selector at the top of the screen:
- Click the school selector. It shows All Schools when no schools are chosen.
- In Select schools, tick the school.
- Click Apply selection.
The selector now shows the school’s name, and pages such as Trust Home, Attendance Intelligence and Compare Schools show only that school. To include every school again, open the selector, click All Schools, then Apply selection.
You can also tick schools under Schools → All Schools. That page lists every school in the trust with its phase, URN and Ofsted report card. Use Search schools and the school type buttons, such as All types, to find one. Ticking a school there changes your selection in the same way, and choosing a school type narrows every trust page to that type.
Work in the school itself
Section titled “Work in the school itself”The school page doesn’t open the school’s own workspace. If you also work in the school, switch to it. See Switch between your trust and school workspaces.
If something doesn’t work
Section titled “If something doesn’t work”| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| “School not available” | The school isn’t linked to the trust you have open. If you belong to more than one trust, switch to the right one. |
| “School aggregates not available” | The school is linked to your trust but its figures didn’t come back. Reload the page, and check with the school that its MIS is connected. |
| “We could not load this school” | Reload the page. If it keeps happening, wait a few minutes and try again. |
| “No schools match your search or school type filters” | Click Clear search and school type filters. |
| “No schools are linked to this trust” | No schools have been linked to your trust yet. Ask your trust’s central team. |
| “Trust access is not enabled” | Your account isn’t a member of a trust. Ask your trust’s central team if you need access. |
