Safeguard / Record Transfer

Record Transfer: prepare the pack and track the receiving step

Student Radar helps authorised safeguarding leads prepare a child’s protection records for another school, separating record selection, authorisation, a sealed pack and recipient acceptance or download.

Authorised leads review the record, confirm the recipient and arrange the human handover. A download or import does not prove the receiving lead has reviewed the child’s needs.

Fictional example in the actual application.

Safeguarding work

From factual context to an authorised next step

Choose the pupil, receiving contact and records deliberately before creating, offering or receiving a safeguarding transfer.

  1. 01

Confirm where the record is going

The wizard separates Student Radar destinations from another school’s download-link route, and asks for the named safeguarding contact before moving on.

  2. 02

Keep current concerns apart from background

Select the appropriate concern records and complete the checklist and structured summary. Relevant history remains distinct from current risks and agreed immediate actions.

  3. 03

Read the transfer state before acting

Outbound and inbound views keep preparation, offer, acceptance, download and import distinct. Staff follow the current state and preserve the transfer’s reference and lineage.

  • Restricted record and receipt planning checks
Fictional example.

Safeguarding Record Transfer

Outbound and inbound views keep preparation, offer, acceptance, download and import distinct. Staff follow the current state and preserve the transfer’s reference and lineage.

  • Draft separate from sealed pack
  • Acceptance separate from download/import
  • Expiry, cancellation and reissue states
Fictional example.

A clearer record for the next decision

Authorised leads review the record, confirm the recipient and arrange the human handover. A download or import does not prove the receiving lead has reviewed the child’s needs.

A checked recipient

Confirm the school and named safeguarding contact before release.

An explicit evidence scope

Review which concerns and linked records the pack is intended to carry.

A traceable handover sequence

Keep offer, receipt, download and import outcomes separate.

Questions about Record Transfer

Can records be transferred to another Student Radar school?

The workflow includes offering a sealed pack to a Student Radar school, with acceptance, download and import stages. External schools have a separate download-link route.

Is there a transfer route for a school outside Student Radar?

The workflow includes an external-school download link, separate from the offer and acceptance route for Student Radar schools. Staff still plan the human handover and receipt confirmation.

  1. First aid + Safeguard

Review the incident in the pupil’s chronology

Check changes across the school week
