Is Student Radar an alternative to CPOMS?
- Student Radar includes its own safeguarding concern, DSL action and chronology workflow, so a school can evaluate it alongside CPOMS StudentSafe. This is not a blanket replacement claim. A school with settled DSL routines, trust reporting and integrations built around CPOMS may have good reasons to keep it.
- 02
Can Student Radar import our CPOMS records?
- This page makes no import or migration claim. Student Radar has not published a verified scope for moving safeguarding records from another system. Before considering any change, plan how your school would keep access to its existing CPOMS records, and ask in the demo how historic safeguarding information would be handled.
- 03
Who decides what happens after a concern is recorded?
- The DSL or a deputy DSL, in either system. Student Radar shows the concern, the chronology and related context to the staff your school permits to see them; it does not decide whether a threshold is met or whether to make a referral. Your child protection policy, Keeping Children Safe in Education and local safeguarding partnership procedures still apply.
- 04
Does Student Radar replace every school system?
- No. Student Radar is not an MIS replacement. Core roll, census, finance and timetable administration should remain in the school MIS, and a specialist product may stay where it is the best authority for a particular job.
- 05
How much does Student Radar cost?
- £4.25 per pupil per year before volume discounts of 5% from 300 pupils, 10% from 500, 15% from 800 and 20% from 1,500. £250 annual minimum, excluding VAT. The annual platform price includes every standard product area. CPOMS does not publish a StudentSafe price; its pricing page asks schools to request a quote.

Can we see Student Radar before purchasing?
- Yes. Book a 30-minute walkthrough. Bring an invented concern and we will show how it is recorded, who can see it, and how actions and the chronology are kept, so your DSL can test the workflow without sharing real pupil information.
