Student Radar

Student Radar comparison

Considering Insight?

Connect pupil tracking to the wider picture.

Insight brings assessment, attendance, provision mapping, parent reporting and primary-school analysis together. Student Radar is designed for the next operational question: how those and other pupil signals become governed support, ownership, follow-up and review.

Comparison checked against public product information on . Student Radar coverage is self-reported and should be tested in a demo.

Likely fit

Who each platform may suit

01 / Insight Tracking

Specialist or platform fit

Insight may suit an English primary school or primary-led trust prioritising assessment, attendance, provision mapping, reporting and analysis.

Public materials are less focused on safeguarding case management, classroom behaviour/seating, and health workflows.

02 / Student Radar

Connected pupil-support fit

Student Radar may suit a school that needs the data lens to connect with SEND, safeguarding, behaviour, health, family communication and owned pupil-support work.

Student Radar is not an MIS replacement. Core statutory roll, census, finance, and timetable administration should still sit in the school MIS.

Insight is not described here as assessment-only. Its current public offer includes attendance, provision mapping, learning plans, parent reporting and MAT analysis as well as assessment.

How the workflow differs

When the data is clear but the response crosses teams

  1. Assessment progress changes.
  2. Attendance begins to decline.
  3. Existing provision is due for review.
  4. Behaviour or family context changes the interpretation.

Insight Tracking public path

Insight publicly connects assessment, attendance, learning plans and provision mapping for primary schools, including intervention cost, outcome and engagement reporting.

Student Radar operating path

  1. Bring authorised assessment and support signals into one pupil view.
  2. Interpret them alongside safeguarding, behaviour, health and family context.
  3. Turn the decision into owned work with a due or review date.
  4. Review the evidence and outcome without losing the original signal.

Stack and price

Decide whether tracking is the destination or the starting point

Insight publishes a broad primary data offer and clear pricing. Student Radar should be compared on the extra systems and hand-offs needed after the analysis: who acts, what evidence they use, when the response is reviewed and how leaders see the outcome.

The practical questions

Questions about Student Radar and Insight Tracking

Is Student Radar an alternative to Insight Tracking?

It can be, but this is not a blanket replacement claim. The right choice depends on the work your school needs to improve, the specialist depth it values in Insight Tracking, and how pupil signals become owned action across teams.

Does Student Radar include provision mapping?

Yes. Student Radar self-reports SEND register, provision mapping, support plans, interventions, outcomes and review workflows. A demo should test these against your school’s real process and evidence requirements.

Does Student Radar replace every school system?

No. Student Radar is not an MIS replacement. Core roll, census, finance and timetable administration should remain in the school MIS, and a specialist product may stay where it is the best authority for a particular job.

Can we move existing data into Student Radar?

We review the data and systems you already have, then agree a safe migration and integration plan. Feasibility, scope and record provenance are confirmed before a school commits; not every historic record should be copied automatically.

How much does Student Radar cost?

From £4.25 / pupil / year. The published annual platform price includes every standard product area, excludes VAT and has volume discounts. Your written quote confirms pupil count, discount and any pass-through SMS cost.

Can we see Student Radar before purchasing?

Yes. Book a 30-minute walkthrough and tell us which workflows matter. We will show the relevant pupil-support journey and answer the comparison questions your team needs to test.
