A worked moment

A graze at break time

A pupil comes in from the yard with a grazed knee. The member of staff on duty records the incident and the care given: what happened, where, who treated it and what was applied.

If the pupil has a condition or allergy that matters here, it is visible to staff authorised to see it. The record notes whether the family should be told, and when the school makes contact, the method and time are logged.

Nothing about the graze is dramatic, and the record does not pretend otherwise. The point is what happens next: if the same pupil is back on Thursday with another knock, the earlier record is there, and the person who should ask a question can ask it.
