QABF: keep ratings, answers and context together

Student Radar helps staff record a 25-item questionnaire about a clearly described target behaviour and review domain totals alongside the underlying answers and observation context.

Ratings and hypotheses support professional review. They do not establish a cause or select a plan automatically.

See completed-assessment counts and the latest target behaviour before opening a record. Fictional example.

Evidence into reviewed action

Use ratings to structure enquiry around one target behaviour.

Record the questionnaire, inspect its domain totals and endorsement counts, and return to saved assessments without treating a score as a diagnosis.

  1. 01

    Describe the target before rating

Choose the pupil and describe observable behaviour so the questionnaire has a clear focus.

  2. 02

Read the answers alongside the totals

Keep unanswered items, Never and Does not apply distinct. Complete all 25 ratings before saving.

  3. 03

Review the register on a phone

Compact pupil rows retain the assessment count and history action.

Keep the ratings available for professional review

QABF helps staff keep the record, its meaning and the next human decision connected.

A questionnaire that can be revisited

The saved target, context and item ratings remain together in pupil assessment history for a later comparison.

Scores read with their actual meaning

Domain totals, endorsement counts and Does not apply answers support focused questions without turning a ranking into a diagnosis.

An explicit handover to professional review

Staff use the questionnaire alongside observations and other evidence before agreeing or changing support.

Questions about QABF

Which QABF domains does the workspace summarise?

Ratings are summarised across Attention, Escape, Non-social, Physical and Tangible domains. Staff read totals and endorsement counts alongside the individual answers.

Do QABF totals decide a pupil’s support plan?

No. They suggest questions for professional review. Neither the totals nor optional AI interpretation establish a cause, diagnosis or automatic support-plan decision.

The value of a connected school

See the pattern. Bring the context.

A change in attendance or behaviour is the start of a conversation. The connected pupil record helps staff ask a better next question.

Follow a connection to see what it makes possible

Relevant context, with access set by each staff member’s role and responsibilities. Staff decide the response.

  1. SEND + Core

Check whether support is reaching the pupil

Put attendance and behaviour alongside plans, provision and review evidence. Staff can investigate missed support before deciding what needs to change.

  2. Health + Core

Bring health needs into the attendance conversation

Authorised staff can check relevant medical needs and care plans when following up absence, then agree practical support with the family.

  3. Family communication + Core

Keep the family conversation with the follow-up

Read the contact history around a pupil before reaching out. Record the next action so another colleague can pick up the conversation with context.
