Health / Medical Needs

Which pupils have conditions, what support they need, and who may see the record.

Give authorised staff a clear view of conditions, allergies and support needs across the school, year group or class.

Health information is available only to authorised staff and supports, rather than replaces, the school's clinical procedures.

The working surface

What it does

The Medical Needs roster holds conditions, allergies and support needs, viewed for the whole school or a class with cohort filtering, so authorised staff see what is relevant to the pupils in front of them.

Part of the Medical Needs workflow

Limits made explicit

What it deliberately does not do

01

The roster shows what has been recorded, not what has changed since. A new diagnosis reaches the roster when someone enters it.

02

A recorded status does not establish that every required action has happened. Review dates and follow-ups exist so that people check.

03

Severity markers and the Allergy-linked badge classify what the school recorded; they are not a clinical grading.

Evidence in context

Beside the rest of the pupil's picture

Medical context sits alongside attendance, behaviour and SEND for staff whose roles span them, without merging sensitive detail into general view.

  • Whole-school and class roster views, with cohort filtering
  • Conditions, severity and the Allergy-linked badge for authorised viewers
  • A route from the roster to the pupil's fuller record for those permitted
