The working surface

What it does

01 / 02

School Settings

School Settings holds the school-wide defaults other workflows read: term dates, school hours and operations, communications, safeguarding and behaviour among them.

Part of the School Configuration workflow

02 / 02

Student App Setup

Student App Setup controls what the pupil app offers, with tighter permissions for who can change it.

Limits made explicit

What it deliberately does not do

01

They are two pages with two jobs. Nothing here pretends to be one control panel.

02

Changes apply as they are saved. There is no general log of who changed what, so schools that need a record keep their own.

03

The pages are role-gated, and changing the pupil app is gated further, so configuration stays with the people the school chose.

Evidence in context

Where it sits

Both pages sit in Settings, reached through role-controlled administration routes.

  • Term dates, hours, communications, safeguarding and behaviour defaults in School Settings
  • Pupil app setup with tighter change permissions
  • Both reachable from the Settings menu
