Student app publishing and achievement rule setup

Student Radar helps school teams prepare reviewed pupil-facing material and maintain class or global achievement-rule configuration. Achievement rules do not award points yet because the student app does not read them; pupils see the points staff have recorded.

Staff review the audience, source, wording and publication decision. Saving a rule is configuration only, and saving an announcement draft does not publish it.

Fictional example in the actual application.

School operations

Keep the next decision connected to its context

Use School publishing for reviewed pupil-facing drafts and maintain class or global achievement-rule configuration. Achievement rules do not award points yet; pupils see points staff have recorded.

  1. 01

    Prepare the pupil-facing publication

Check the intended pupil or cohort and current account coverage, then prepare the wording and timing. Submission, independent approval and publication remain separate actions.

  2. 02

    Configure the rule deliberately

Choose the class, metric, operator, threshold, window and points. Read the generated sentence and current no-automatic-points limitation before saving.

  3. 03

Return to the saved class rule

Reopen the rule card and read its class, criteria, points and Active state. Active describes the configuration; it does not establish points awarded or a pupil outcome.

Prepare the pupil-facing publication

Check the intended pupil or cohort and current account coverage, then prepare the wording and timing. Submission, independent approval and publication remain separate actions.

  • Named pupil or bounded cohort
  • Source and timing reviewed
  • Draft separate from pupil visibility
Fictional example.

Configure the rule deliberately

Choose the class, metric, operator, threshold, window and points. Read the generated sentence and current no-automatic-points limitation before saving.

  • Class and global authority separate
  • Whole-number configuration validated
  • Lower priority listed first within scope
Fictional example.

Student App Setup

Return to the saved class rule

Reopen the rule card and read its class, criteria, points and Active state. Active describes the configuration; it does not establish points awarded or a pupil outcome.

  • Saved configuration visible
  • Enable and disable are separate actions
  • No automatic reward claim
Fictional example.

Make the record practical to use

Staff review the audience, source, wording and publication decision. Saving a rule is configuration only, and saving an announcement draft does not publish it.

A reviewable pupil update

Keep audience, source and wording attached to the draft.

A precise rule configuration

Read the intended metric and threshold together before saving.

An honest current capability

Distinguish saved configuration from automatic points and real publication.

Questions about Student App Setup

Can we prepare school material for pupil-facing publication?

Yes. School publishing supports drafts and a separate review and publication process. Preparing a draft does not publish a pupil update.

Can we configure class and global achievement rules?

Yes. Rules can be saved and enabled or disabled, but they do not award points yet. An Active configuration is not evidence of an award.
