Alternative Provision / Placement Review Packs

A review pack that gathers its own evidence and keeps the gaps in view.

Choose the pack and the period, and attendance, check-ins, progress records and evidence links fill in from the records. Staff write the summary and next steps, then a leader signs it off. The pack is frozen against the exact records it used.

Signing records that a leader has reviewed the pack and its stated gaps. It does not fill in missing evidence.

Placement Reports, with each pack’s status from draft to sent.

Draft to signed off

From the records to a signed review pack

Packs move through Draft, Reviewed, Signed off and Sent, so the team can see where each one is.

  1. 01

    Prepare the pack

Choose a weekly, monthly, termly, placement review or final report. The period defaults to the last six weeks.

  2. 02

    Review it

Staff check what filled in, write a summary and next steps, and mark the pack as reviewed.

  3. 03

    Sign it off

A leader writes a sign-off statement and signs the pack, which locks it.

Signed review

Evidence and gaps on the same page

The pack keeps the reporting period, staff summary and next steps beside the check-ins, progress records and evidence it was built from. A missing session mark stays listed as missing after sign-off.

  • Frozen against the exact record versions it used
  • CSV and branded PDF downloads
  • A summary you choose to publish to the commissioner
A signed review with its period, summary, next steps and evidence links.

Sharing

You decide what the commissioner sees

Commissioners see the summary you publish, not the whole pack. Downloads are shared by your team, so the decision to send anything stays with you.

Review meetings start from the evidence

The pack does the gathering, so the meeting can spend its time on what the evidence means.

Less copying between documents

Attendance, check-ins, progress and evidence fill in for the chosen period.

A clear sign-off

Staff review first, then a leader signs and the pack locks.

A record that stays put

The pack stays tied to the records it used, even if those records are corrected later.

The value of a connected school

A placement touches more than the timetable.

Provider staff use the same safeguarding and health tools as mainstream schools, and commissioning schools on Student Radar have their own side of the placement.

Follow a connection to see what it makes possible

Relevant context, with access set by each staff member’s role and responsibilities. Staff decide the response.

  1. Safeguarding + Alternative Provision

Raise a concern from the pupil you are working with

Provider staff can raise a concern and authorised DSLs work it on the DSL Action Board, with the chronology and record transfer in the same place. Safeguarding records are never shared through commissioner access.

  2. Health + Alternative Provision

Check medical needs before an off-site session

Authorised staff can check medical needs, medications and healthcare plans for the young people in the provision before a session, and record first aid when something happens.

  3. Commissioning school + Alternative Provision

See the placement from the commissioning school’s side

Schools that commission placements keep a provider register with due-diligence checks, placement checks before, during and after the placement, and an evidence pack they can export.
