Pupil profiles: find the context for your next step
Student Radar brings permitted pupil information into a profile so school staff can find the right child, read the relevant section and follow through to the source record.
Staff review the available evidence, choose the authorised next step and check its outcome. A summary or completed task does not establish pupil impact.
From evidence to response
Move from the class picture to the pupil’s next step
Find a pupil, review the information you are allowed to see and turn the evidence into a clear next step.
01
Find and confirm the pupil
Open the profile from search or an available class link. Check identity before reviewing information or changing a record.
02
Review the permitted evidence
Move between available sections for attendance, learning, support, family context or actions. Read dates, source coverage and unavailable information.
03
Choose and review the response
Follow the relevant record, agree the next step with the right colleague and return to the evidence at review.
The next step
See what is known, and what still needs checking
The profile brings available pupil context together without replacing specialist records or widening access.
- Access depends on the section and source
- Unavailable information is not an empty record
- Source links lead to the permitted next action
In context
Read attendance with its coverage
Check the period, counted sessions and source coverage before interpreting the headline.
A clearer route to the next step
These are supported staff workflows; the school remains responsible for professional judgement and review.
Review relevant evidence with dates and coverage
Record an explicit next step and review it
Questions about Pupil profile
Can staff see a pupil’s records in context?
The profile provides Overview, relevant specialist sections, actions and a Timeline of available records. Sections and actions depend on the school and the viewer’s access.
Is the profile a complete account of everything known about a child?
No. Available information can be incomplete or out of date. Staff check identity, source detail and the relevant section before acting.
