School first aid on-call requests and duty rota

Student Radar helps school teams coordinate a duty first-aid request, acknowledgement, response and recorded outcome with the duty rota. Named pupil records connect to the incident workflow; an on-screen acknowledgement does not confirm physical arrival or delivered care.

An on-screen status does not prove physical arrival or treatment. Staff follow the school’s trained procedures and record what actually happened; the request only closes through its explicit outcome and pupil-accounting steps.

The fictional live queue shows the request before a responder acknowledges it. Fictional school example.

First Aid On-Call

From a request for help to an accounted-for response

Connect a request for a duty first aider with acknowledgement, the actual outcome, named pupil records and the rota that determines who can respond.

  1. 01

    Describe the help and location

Raise a factual request with the appropriate school-defined priority and up to five correctly identified pupils. Check current cover and use the school’s usual direct route when needed.

  2. 02

Make ownership and response state explicit

The eligible responder acknowledges the request and records En route or hands it over. A stale claim or takeover conflict is reviewed against the current holder.

  3. 03

Account for the response and maintain cover

Record the actual outcome and each named pupil’s care record or explained no-first-aid state. Keep rota dates, periods/hourly slots, people and coverage current.

Acknowledge the request

Keep acknowledgement separate from arrival

The fictional request remains acknowledged after reopening, with En route, Hand over and Resolve as deliberate next actions. A recorded response state does not prove the responder is physically at the location.

Record the actual outcome

Prepare the outcome without skipping the care record

Resolve asks for the actual outcome and a summary. A care outcome still needs the connected First Aid record, while named pupils must each be accounted for before completion.

Check duty cover

Check the cover change that was saved

The fictional saved rota slot reopens with Sam Patel at Main office reception. Period and hourly cover, eligible staff, covered state and replacement notices keep duty planning explicit.

Prepare the request

Keep the request factual and attributable

What help is needed, Location, Priority and the optional named-pupil list are separate inputs. Opening the form sends nothing; staff review the intended request and inspect its resulting state.

Questions about First Aid On-Call

Can requests connect to the current first-aid duty rota?

Yes. Current rota cover and permissions determine who can respond, with separate request, queue and rota-management views.

Can a responder retain an unfinished request after their duty ends?

Yes. Requests I hold can retain an unfinished claim after the duty slot ends so the actual holder can complete it or arrange a handover.

The value of a connected school

Care with the pupil’s wider context in reach.

A first aid visit, care plan or medication round belongs to the same child the school teaches and supports every day.

Follow a connection to see what it makes possible

Relevant context, with access set by each staff member’s role and responsibilities. Staff decide the response.

  1. Safeguarding + Health

A first aid record can inform a wider review

Authorised staff can consider relevant incidents alongside the pupil’s chronology. Repeated visits can prompt a closer look; staff decide whether a concern needs recording and what happens next.

  2. SEND + Health

Prepare care around agreed support needs

Relevant pupil plans and communication strategies help authorised staff prepare care and follow-up around the child, with health and SEND responsibilities kept clear.

  3. Family communication + Health

Keep the family update with the care given

Parent notification status sits with first aid and medication records. Staff can see what was communicated and which follow-up still needs attention.
