This lesson: prepare with the right class context

Student Radar brings expected pupils, practical adjustments, planning and homework together for a timetabled lesson today, helping teachers and allocated support staff prepare and record follow-up.

Staff review the available evidence, choose the authorised next step and check its outcome. A summary or completed task does not establish pupil impact.

Fictional lesson example. Coverage messages limit what the summary can establish.

From evidence to response

Start the lesson with a clearer picture

See your selected lesson, check expected pupils and practical adjustments, open class tools and leave a note for next time.

  1. 01

    Confirm the lesson

Check the selected timetabled lesson, class and room. Review expected pupils, time-away reasons and practical adjustments with their coverage.

  2. 02

    Open the right tool

Use Take register, Whiteboard or Seating plan where offered. Read the plan and the note from the previous lesson; allocated support staff have their own available brief and handback workflow.

  3. 03

    Leave the next lesson ready

Save a private next-lesson note, record optional observations for review and return to the relevant class tools. Attendance and intervention delivery keep their own records.

The next step

Practical context before the first activity

Review what the page knows before acting. A scheduled session or saved note is not proof that support was delivered.

  • Expected pupils and recorded time away
  • Permitted practical adjustments
  • Links into the class tools and owning records

Questions about This lesson

What can staff check before teaching?

This lesson brings together who is expected, practical pupil information, the plan and homework, with routes to relevant class tools and follow-up.

Does the expected pupil list take the register?

No. The lesson summary supports preparation. Staff still take the formal register and read the relevant individual plans.
