Lesson plans: connect teaching intent with classroom preparation

Student Radar helps teachers bring objectives, success criteria, a timed sequence, assessment checks, adaptations and resources into a saved plan they can review, teach from or print.

Human review keeps objective, source and practical teaching decisions aligned.

Fictional teaching example using actual application controls.

Teaching and explanation

From the intended learning to the teaching response

Prepare objectives, timed phases, checks, adaptations and resources, then save and use the reviewed plan.

  1. 01

Make the objective explain the learning

A fractions lesson needs a clear intended explanation. Staff align the objective and criteria with the mathematical idea rather than treating a completed worksheet as the learning itself.

  2. 02

Keep resources close to their teaching phase

Build and order the timed phases, then link the resources and checks to the intended point in the lesson. Focused drawers keep adaptations, safety and prior/next learning accessible.

  3. 03

Inspect the saved plan before teaching

Save and reopen the changed detail. Device-local preparation differs from a shared source record, and Teach Mode or Print plan does not establish delivery or learning.

A considered teaching next step

Human review keeps objective, source and practical teaching decisions aligned.

A lesson intention staff can assess

Criteria can ask for observable explanation rather than task completion alone.

A practical sequence with resources in context

Timing and resource links make the intended teaching order inspectable.

A reviewed plan ready for its next use

Save/reopen checks clarify what record the teacher is relying on.

Questions about Lesson plans

Can staff teach from the saved plan?

The manual Lesson Planner offers Save, Teach Mode and Print plan. Staff should review and reopen the saved plan before relying on it.

Does adding a lesson plan create a calendar booking?

No. Planning a lesson does not itself book Calendar time, record attendance or show that teaching took place.
