Homework: connect the task, returned work and teacher review

Student Radar helps teachers set class tasks with resources and deadlines, review reported returns and record their assessment, with reminders prepared through the school’s Communications process.

A completion report or saved review does not prove learning impact. Inspect the work and agree the response.

Classroom workflow

From preparation to a reviewable response

Plan class tasks, distinguish pupil completion from teacher review and prepare reminders through Communications.

  1. 01

Make the task usable before assigning

A teacher plans a story response with clear instructions, resources and a deadline. Templates supply a starting point; staff check the class and submission rules before assigning or saving a draft.

  2. 02

Review the work behind a completion report

Pupil-reported completion is not a teacher mark. Open the task’s recipient list, inspect the actual work and record the individual mark and feedback using the linked scale where configured.

  3. 03

    Prepare the right follow-up

Select the intended pupils and audience, then prepare reminders through Communications. Family access, approval and quiet hours remain part of the delivery workflow.

  • Task, pupil and review views
  • Review conflicts preserve newer work
  • Linked reviewed marks retain their source

A reviewable class workflow

A completion report or saved review does not prove learning impact. Inspect the work and agree the response.

Clear instructions for the intended class

Pupils can see what to do, which resources to use and the agreed deadline.

An honest view of returned and reviewed work

Teachers can distinguish reported returns from work they have inspected and marked.

A deliberate communication follow-up

Recipient selection and Communications states make the intended follow-up reviewable.

Questions about Homework

Can homework marks connect to the Digital Markbook?

Where permitted, reviewed homework marks can appear in Digital Markbook. Teachers should inspect the actual work before recording their review.

How are families notified about homework?

Staff prepare reminders through the school’s Communications approval and delivery process. Assignment, approval, scheduling and delivery remain separate states to check.
