School staff page access, actions and role presets

Student Radar helps school administrators review a colleague’s effective access, prepare permitted changes and maintain reusable access presets. Pages and actions are different controls: showing a page does not authorise every action or reveal every pupil.

Authorised permission managers review the actual duty and scope. Showing a page does not grant every action or every pupil, and protected role/source boundaries remain in force.

Fictional example in the actual application.

School operations

Keep the next decision connected to its context

Read current effective access, prepare a specific colleague change and distinguish it from shared role or preset decisions.

  1. 01

Name the person and control together

Open a cell to review the exact colleague and page/action. Read default, allowed, scoped and denied states before preparing a change.

  2. 02

    Review the shared role impact

Starting-role edits affect everyone with that role at the school, subject to their own preset and individual choices. Check representative people after an authorised save.

  3. 03

    Make reusable presets purposeful

Name the duty, review a starting point and choose the intended pages/actions. A new preset changes nobody until assigned; editing one in use affects its members.

  • Protected roles remain limited
  • Default restoration is a deliberate decision

Make the record practical to use

Authorised permission managers review the actual duty and scope. Showing a page does not grant every action or every pupil, and protected role/source boundaries remain in force.

A specific access decision

Keep the colleague, duty and exact control together.

A visible scope

Read effective and assigned access alongside role boundaries.

A deliberate shared change

Review all affected role or preset members before saving.

Questions about Access

Can we inspect a colleague’s current effective access?

Yes. The access matrix supports review of what the intended colleague can open and do before making a specific change.

Can we reuse access presets or change a starting role?

Yes, where permitted. Shared role and preset decisions are separate from an individual colleague change and should be reviewed for their actual scope.
