Understanding
the whole child.

The greatest challenge facing educators today and moving forward is the balance between humanness and technological advancement. Essentially, each individual is a complex set of data patterns within a larger transformative growth cycle and in the context of everyday unexpected factors. Given the global rise in individual, familial, social, societal, psychological, emotional and financial needs children now face, educators have to find new and alternative ways to analyse and synthesise relevant data that is available, whilst maintaining the human dignity and wholeness of the child and young person. This data cannot be passive or partial - it should inform practice through application.

Student Radar adopts an approach where individually analysed pieces of information are synthesised to help the practitioner develop an understanding of the child and their uniqueness, their gifts, plus their holistic areas of development and support. This can only serve to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the classroom, as well as the strategic development of an educational institution, as it continuously seeks to better serve the community it is in. At the heart of good teaching, research will show it is all about connection and communication. This is what Student Radar does through patterns of synthesised data - connection and communication. This is social justice in education.
