The generated settlement-name data in `packages/core/src/detect/data/uk-settlements.data.js` is derived from:

- OS Open Names, April 2026, published by Ordnance Survey.
- Index of Place Names, July 2024, published by the Office for National Statistics.
- Settlement Development Limits 2015, published by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency.
- OSNI Open Data Gazetteer - Place Names, published by Land & Property Services / Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland.

The source data is reused under the [Open Government Licence v3.0](https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/doc/open-government-licence/version/3/). The generated artifact contains names only; coordinates and source identifiers are not included.
